Be cunning, play cunning, and master craps the ideal way!

Dice and dice games goes back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but current craps is just about a century old. Current craps evolved from the 12th Century Anglo game referred to as Hazard. No one knows for sure the origin of the game, however Hazard is believed to have been created by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, in the 12th century. It’s supposed that Sir William’s horsemen bet on Hazard through a blockade on the fortress Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was derived from the castle’s name.

Early French colonists imported the game Hazard to Canada. In the 1700s, when displaced by the British, the French moved south and discovered safety in southern Louisiana where they after a while became known as Cajuns. When they left Acadia, they brought their favored game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns modernized the game and made it fair mathematically. It’s said that the Cajuns adjusted the name to craps, which is acquired from the name of the losing throw of two in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game extended to the Mississippi barges and all over the country. A few acknowledge the dice builder John H. Winn as the founder of modern craps. In 1907, Winn created the current craps layout. He added the Don’t Pass line so gamblers could bet on the dice to lose. Later, he designed the spaces for Place bets and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
